Kaylan Withrow finished with a game-high 23 points, but the Auburn Montgomery women's basketball team was outscored by 22 in the second and third quarters in a 71-54 setback at Tuskegee Tuesday evening.

STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• Withrow knocked down seven 3-pointers en route to a game-high total. She added three assists and a steal in the contest.

Tyra Caudle posted her second double-double in the last three games, finishing with 10 points and 12 rebounds.

Chandler Sutton scored six points and grabbed five rebounds off the bench.

Nadia Stewart finished with eight points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals for the Warhawks.
• Rachel Brownlee scored 15 points, grabbed nine rebounds and tallied four steals to lead the Tigerettes.
• Teja Finley (15) and Jalynn Estrada (14) also scored in double figures.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Warhawks took a quick 3-0 lead when Withrow hit a 3-pointer just 18 seconds into the contest. The trey started a 13-5 run to open the game and was capped by a Stewart layup with 4:13 remaining in the quarter. AUM led 17-11 after one quarter.
• Tuskegee turned up the defensive pressure in the second quarter, forcing seven turnovers in the first 4:06. The Tigerettes defense fueled a 10-1 run during the span, giving Tuskegee a 21-18 lead with 5:54 remaining before halftime. The two teams played to a tie four times down the stretch, including 29-29 with 2:13 remaining following a jumper by
Anastasia Evans. However, TU scored seven straight following the bucket, before a Withrow trey in the final seconds, provided the halftime score of 36-32 in favor of the Tigerettes. Withrow scored 12 of the final 14 points of the quarter for the Warhawks and finished the first half with 17 points.
• Tuskegee opened the second half with a 16-6 run in the opening 7:24 of the third quarter and took a 52-38 lead with 2:36 left in the quarter. The Warhawks trailed 58-42 after the quarter.
• The Tigerettes outscored the Warhawks 13-12 in the final quarter to provide the final margin.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• The Warhawks converted 35.2 percent of their shots, but just 27.6 percent from behind the arc. AUM finished 10-of-16 from the charity stripe.
• The Tigerettes hit 40.3 percent from the field, but only 26.1 percent from distance. Tuskegee was 15-of-21 from the free-throw line.
• Each team committed 18 turnovers, with the Warhawks holding a 23-16 advantage in points off turnovers.
• Tuskegee held a 50-37 advantage in total rebounds and a 21-12 edge on the offensive glass. The Tigerettes recorded 18 second-chance points, while limiting the Warhawks to just one.
• Tuskegee's bench outscored AUM's 39-10.

The Warhawks will return to action on Friday, Feb. 10, when they travel to Mobile, Ala., for a 5:30 p.m. contest against Spring Hill College.
