ALBANY, Ga. ------ The Auburn Montgomery baseball team defeated the Golden Rams of Albany State on the road on Wednesday afternoon, with a final tally of 8-3.
NOTES
• The Warhawks improved to 25-22.
• Albany State fell to 16-26.
• The Warhawks did not strike out a single batter in the victory.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS

Hunter Hillyer went seven strong innings, surrendering just four hits and giving up no runs.
• Senior
Clay Gidley tallied an inning of scoreless relief to shut the door.

Donovan Chandler had a pair of hits and stolen bases.
• Junior backstop
Parker Moman recorded a pair of singles and two runs batted in.

Chase Johnson and
Nathan Langley each had a pair of singles and an RBI.

Brandon Davis and
Trevor Flynn notched a single and an RBI apiece.
• Quantico Dodson-Williams registered three hits for the Golden Rams.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Chandler led off the top of the third with a single, advanced to second on a balk, then stole third. Cosby then walked with one out in the inning. The next hitter, Flynn singled in Chandler to break the scoreless tie. With two outs, Langley singled to load the bases. Johnson followed with a single to make the score 2-0.
• After a pair of free passes to Russell and Flynn kicked off the top of the fifth, Langley singled to left to increase the lead. Johnson was then hit by a pitch and was followed by an RBI-fielder's choice off the bat of
Brandon Davis. The next batter, Moman singled in Langley and Chandler then reached on an error, scoring Davis and the Warhawks led 6-0 after five offensive innings.
• Albany State struck for three runs in the bottom of the eighth to draw within three.
• Moman tallied his second RBI single of the game in the top of the ninth and Chandler reached on another defensive miscue, scoring Davis to push the lead to 8-3 heading to the final half.
• The Golden Rams would notch a double and a walk in the bottom of the ninth, but Gidley was able to escape the jam and the Warhawks defeated Albany State 8-3.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• Albany State committed four errors, leading to just one unearned run. The Warhawks did not commit a defensive miscue.

AUM baseball will conclude its season this weekend at home when they take on Georgia College for a three-game set. First pitch on Friday is set for 6 p.m. Sunday, the team will honor the seniors prior to the 1 p.m. first pitch.
