MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The AUM women's soccer team dropped its second consecutive Gulf South Conference matchup at home on Sunday afternoon, falling to West Georgia, 3-0, at the AUM Soccer Complex.
NOTES
• AUM drops to 1-3 overall and 0-2 in the GSC.
• The Warhawks have now dropped three contests in a row since opening the season with a 4-2 win over Eckerd.
• UWG improves to 2-3 on the season, with a 2-2 mark in the GSC.
• West Georgia was coming off of a 2-1 double overtime loss to Montevallo on Friday evening.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• Sophomore
Ruby Mendez posted six of AUM's 11 shots, sending three just over the crossbar.
• Goalkeeper
Felicia Wester tallied eight saves on the day.
• UWG's Katie Mitchell broke the scoreless tie with a goal and posted three shots on goal.
• Francessca Ellis also had a goal, tallying a team-best four shots on goal.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• UWG was awarded a free kick from 15 yards outside of the goalkeeper's box on the right flank and Mitchell was able to sail it over Wester's outstretched arms to put it in the side of the net in the 15
th minute.
• Ellis, who had been plaguing the AUM defense all game long, sent a low line drive from ten yards to the right of the goal, across the face of the goal and into the side netting to give the Wolves a commanding 2-0 lead in the 74
th minute.
• Late substitution Jazmine Santiago got the ball away from a Warhawk and dribbled into the box on the left side, scoring an unassisted goal, beating the keeper 1-on-1 in the 89
th minute.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• AUM finished the match with 11 shots (one on goal) and only one corner kick, while the Wolves finished the day with 16 shots (12 on goal) and nine corner kicks.
• All three of UWG's goals were unassisted.

The Warhawks will host Erskine College out of Conference Carolinas on Wednesday at the AUM Soccer Complex. Game time is set for 3 p.m.
