About the Warhawks
AUM (6-4) begins conference play following a 1-2 outing in the UNA Volleyball Classic, ending the weekend with a 3-0 setback to Union. The Warhawks average 10.4 kills on a .175 hitting percentage with 13.2 digs, 9.7 assists, 1.4 service aces and 1.2 blocks.
Individually, freshman outside hitter
Skylar Coppinger leads the offense with 2.84 kills per set, getting the bulk of her passes from junior setter
Carly Smart who's dishing out 7.56 assists. Sophomore defensive specialist
Haley Toler paces the defense with 4.09 digs per set with junior middle blocker
Brianna Garvin averages 0.75 blocks at the net while posting a team-best .299 hitting percentage.
About the Choctaws
Mississippi College (6-5) returns to their home court following a 3-1 performance in the Dr. Margaret Downing Invitational, losing to the host Southern Arkansas 3-1 in the final match. The Choctaws average 11.3 kills per set on a .141 hitting percentage with 15.8 digs, 10.6 assists, 1.9 aces and 1.6 blocks.
The Choctaws' offense runs through Shelby Grace Mays who averages 2.88 kills and 0.58 service aces. Sydney Chandler quarterbacks Mississippi College with a team-best 5.29 assists per set rate while Jill Brown paces the defense with 3.71 digs and Kayana Mitchell boasts 1.03 blocks.
