HOW IT HAPPENED
• AUM and Mississippi College exchanged the opening 20 points before a 5-0 run by the hosts propelled them to a 15-10 lead. The Choctaws prevented AUM from getting within two for the remainder of the frame behind a match-high .333 hitting percentage.
• In similar fashion to the previous stanza, the two sides stood in a deadlock following the opening 20 points with a 10-all score. AUM, who used back-to-back tallies to knot up the score, continued its rally with three more points to take a 13-10 lead. The Warhawks maintained the advantage until a late 6-2 run by the Choctaws gave the hosts a 23-22 position.
• Mississippi College led the bulk of the final set, with the Warhawks lone lead coming off a 5-1 run to take a 10-9 advantage before four-consecutive tallies for the hosts gave them a 13-10 edge. AUM never let the deficit get higher than four, making it a one-point contest at 19-18 behind a 4-1 run but could not knot up the score.
