Women’s Soccer Travels To Spring Hill

AUM will look to snap a four-game losing skid against SHC
MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn Montgomery women's soccer team will travel to Mobile, Ala., this Friday to take on Gulf South Conference foe Spring Hill College in a match set to begin at 1 p.m. on the campus of the Badgers.

About the Warhawks
AUM fell to non-conference opponent Erskine College on Wednesday afternoon, falling 2-1 in double overtime. With the setback the Warhawks dropped their third consecutive home contest and their fourth overall. In GSC play AUM is 0-2 heading into its match against Spring Hill, and is 1-1 in road games.  
 
AUM is led offensively by sophomore Ruby Mendez, who has posted two goals and two assists on the season. She's also recorded a team-high 19 shots including eight shots on goal. Freshman Melissa Fernandez is second on the team in shots with 11 (four on goal) and is tied for the lead in assists with two.
 
Senior Morgan Glenn (0-1) got her first start of the season in goal for AUM against Eckerd, tallying four saves against Eckerd. Junior Felicia Wester (1-3) has started every other game in goal for the Warhawks.
 
AUM has won three in a row against Spring Hill, including a pair of victories last season. The Warhawks won a 3-2 decision at home on Oct. 12, before finishing out the season with a 3-1 victory over the Badgers on Nov. 6.
 
About the Badgers
Spring Hill is currently 1-5 on the season, with a 0-3 mark in conference play. The Badgers picked up their first victory of the season on Wednesday, posting a 2-1 victory over Georgia Southwestern State. The win broke a 23-match winless streak for SHC, dating back to Nov. 6, 2015, when the Badgers defeated Southern Wesleyan, 4-1.
 
The Badgers are led offensively by Gabrielle Burmaster, who has scored a pair of goals on six shot attempts. Sidney Spivey leads the team in assists with three while Lilli Hanks leads the team in shots with nine and is second in assists with two.
 
Up Next
The Warhawks will host GSC opponent West Alabama on Friday, Sept. 29, at the AUM Soccer Complex. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m., and will be preceded by AUM's and UWA's men's squads squaring off at 5 p.m.
