Volleyball Hosts Montevallo In Inaugural Home Match On Friday, West Georgia On Saturday

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – After opening the inaugural season with 11-straight road matches, the Auburn Montgomery volleyball team welcomes Montevallo to the AUM Athletics Complex for the program's first home match on Friday, Sept. 22 at 6 p.m. The following day, AUM host West Georgia at 1 p.m.

About the Warhawks
AUM (6-5, 0-1 Gulf South Conference) enters its inaugural home match following a 3-0 loss to Mississippi College in the program's first conference bout last Tuesday. The Warhawks average 10.5 kills per set on a .175 hitting percentage with 13.5 digs, 9.7 assists, 1.5 service aces and 1.3 blocks.
 
Individually, freshman outside hitter Skylar Coppinger leads the offense with 2.77 kills per set, getting the bulk of her passes from junior setter Carly Smart who's dishing out 7.66 assists. Sophomore defensive specialist Haley Toler paces the defense with 4.00 digs per set with junior middle blocker Brianna Garvin averages 0.80 blocks at the net while posting a team-best .287 hitting percentage.
 
About the Falcons
Montevallo (4-5, 0-2 Gulf South Conference) makes the trip to Montgomery after suffering a 3-0 loss to West Florida on Tuesday. The Falcons are one of the best teams at the service line in the country, boasting the 17th-highest aces per set rate in Division II at 2.19 while also averaging 11.5 kills on a .209 hitting percentage with 14.1 digs, 10.9 assists and 1.8 blocks.
 
The Falcons' offense is led by Brie Blume, who averages 2.65 kills per set with a GSC-best 0.65 service aces. Kristy Bohan quarterbacks the attack with 7.78 assists per set, while Michaela Henderson boasts 4.20 digs per set on defense with Brioni Dixon averaging 0.80 blocks at the net.
 
About the Wolves
West Georgia (1-8, 0-1 Gulf South Conference) enters the Saturday matchup well rested, having not played a match since a 3-1 loss to Valdosta State on Sept. 16. The Wolves average 9.1 kills per set on a .096 hitting percentage with 14.8 digs, 8.4 assists, 1.1 aces and 1.8 blocks.
 
Anjelina Webb leads the Wolves with a team-best 3.23 kills per set and 2.71 digs, second only to Jaylen Daffin's 3.28 average. Madi Fleming dishes out a team-high 5.79 assists with Niah Bruce boasting 0.83 blocks.
