UWA Upends AUM In Non-Conference Matchup, 5-0

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The Auburn Montgomery men's soccer team suffered its sixth consecutive setback, falling to Gulf South Conference opponent West Alabama, 5-0, in a non-conference match on Friday evening on the campus of the Tigers.
 
NOTES
• AUM falls to 0-6 on the season.
• The Warhawks remain winless on the season, and have dropped eight matches in a row dating back to last season.
• AUM has been outscored 22-1 on the year, with the Warhawks lone goal coming against Davenport on Sept. 8.
• UWA improves to 4-2 on the season.
• Four different Tigers scored goals on the evening, with Ali Brador picking up his third and fourth goals of the season.
• Tonight marked the third game in a row and the fourth overall that the Warhawks have allowed four or more goals in a contest.
 
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
Asher Gipner recorded AUM's lone shot on goal on the evening.
• Goalkeeper Stephen Ingram tallied three saves in the contest. Ingram now has 34 on the season.
• Brador of the Tigers tallied two goals in the victory.
• UWA's Gaspard Voituriez-Donnelly scored a goal and recorded an assist.
• Rakim Ali notched two assists in the contest.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED 
• UWA got on the board in the first minute of the contest, as Brador recorded an unassisted goal 48 seconds into the game.
• Liam Ireland notched his first goal of the season in the 20th minute, scoring on a through ball from Voituriez-Donnelly to put the Tigers up 2-0.
• Brador notched his second goal of the game just before halftime when he took an Ali cross in to the box and scored from ten yards out.
• Voituriez-Donnelly recorded his first goal of the season in the 64th minute, scoring on a pass from Ali.
• With six minutes to play in the contest Josh Forth notched his first goal this season, striking a pass from Kyle McLeod to put the Tigers up 5-0.
 
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE 
• AUM finished the match with 7 shots (one on goal), while the Tigers tallied 13 shots (eight on goal).
• Each team committed 16 fouls on the night.
• UWA recorded six corner kicks with the Warhawks posting three.
 
UP NEXT
The Warhawks will host GSC opponent Montevallo on Sunday afternoon beginning at 3:30 p.m. AUM fell to the Falcons on Sept. 16, 4-0, in a non-conference game at Montevallo. The game will be the first league game of the season for the Warhawks.
