Volleyball Treks To Tennessee For Conference Match Against Lee University

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn Montgomery volleyball team make its first trip to the Volunteer State on Tuesday, Sept. 26 for a Gulf South Conference match against Lee University. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m.

About the Warhawks
AUM (7-6, 1-2 GSC) hits the road after going 1-1 at home this past weekend, winning the program's first GSC victory with a 3-2 triumph over West Georgia on Saturday. The Warhawks average 10.6 kills on a .176 hitting percentage with 13.4 digs, 9.8 assists, 1.3 service aces and 1.2 blocks.
 
Individually, freshman outside hitter Skylar Coppinger leads the offense with 2.70 kills per set, getting the bulk of her passes from junior setter Carly Smart who's dishing out 7.91 assists. Sophomore defensive specialist Haley Toler paces the defense with 3.83 digs per set with junior middle blocker Brianna Garvin averages 0.77 blocks at the net while posting a team-best .301 hitting percentage.
 
About the Flames
In similar fashion to the Warhawks, Lee (7-3, 1-2 GSC) went 1-1 over the weekend with the team winning their first conference match of the season on Saturday. The Flames lead the league in team digs with 18.0 per set while ranking second in team service aces with 1.9 plus third in team kills with 13.46 and team assists with 12.43. Lee also averages 1.2 blocks and hit on a .206 clip.
 
The Flames' offense runs through Silvia Sartori, who ranks second in the GSC in kills with 3.86 per set on a .260 hitting percentage.  MaKayla Beebe ranks fourth in league in digs with 4.57 per set while
Sadie Johnson quarterbacks Lee with 5.43 and Alex Reuter contributes a team-best 0.51 blocks.
