MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn Montgomery volleyball hits the road this weekend for a pair of Gulf South Conference matches, starting on Friday, Sept. 29 against Valdosta State at 6 p.m. followed by reigning GSC regular-season champions West Florida the following day at 1 p.m.

About the Warhawks
AUM (7-7, 1-3 GSC) continues the three-match road swing following a 3-1 setback at Lee University on Tuesday, Sept. 26. The Warhawks average 10.3 kills on a .170 hitting percentage with 13.4 digs, 9.5 assists, 1.3 service aces and 1.2 blocks.
Individually, junior middle blocker
Brianna Garvin ranks in the top-10 of the GSC in hitting percentage and blocks per sets with a .326 clip and a 0.83 average, placing her sixth and eighth, respectively. Junior setter
Carly Smart also ranks among the best in the Gulf South Conference, boasting the fifth-best assists per set rate at 7.79. Sophomore defensive specialist
Haley Toler paces the defense with 3.76 digs per set, ranking ninth in the conference, while freshman outside hitter

About the Blazers
Valdosta State (7-6, 2-2 GSC) goes into the weekend on a three-match losing streak, most recently falling to Flagler College in straight sets this past Tuesday. The Blazers boast one of the top defenses in the Gulf South Conference, leading the conference with 17.91 digs per set and holding opponents to a league-low .125 hitting percentage. AUM's Friday foe also averages 12.3 kills per set on a .174 clip with 11.4 assists, 1.9 blocks and 1.8 service aces.
Kayla Widera leads the Gulf South Conference in blocks with 1.12 per set while Sydney Chick ranks second in the league with 4.98 digs. On offense, Chloe Chubilleau leads three Blazers who average over 2.00 kills per set with 2.81, getting her feeds from Sara Dandridge who dishes out 8.91 assists.
About the Argos
West Florida (11-4, 3-0 GSC) hosts the Warhawks riding an eight-match winning streak and have not lost a GSC contest at home since Oct. 24, 2009. The Argos lead the Gulf South Conference and rank 10th in Division II in kills per set with 14.4 and 12th nationally in assists per set with a GSC-best 13.4 while hitting .239 as a unit with 16.4 digs, 1.9 blocks and 1.5 service aces.
The Argos' offense runs through Rachel Neblet, who leads the GSC and ranks 11th nationally with a .419 hitting percentage while ranking fifth in the league with 3.63 kills per set and seventh in service aces with 0.43. Monique StCyr sets up UWF with 9.66 assists, the second-most in the conference, while Claeigh Morrison blocks the fifth-most attacks in the league with 0.91 per set and Alex Fuelling contributes the seventh-best digs per set average at 4.04.
