ALBANY, Ga. – The Auburn Montgomery volleyball team took on Albany State in a road match on Thursday evening, sweeping the host Golden Rams 3-0 (25-14, 25-18, 25-13).

STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• Redshirt freshman
Jaylyn Felder paced the offense with 11 kills on a .381 hitting percentage with a pair of assisted blocks.
• Junior setter
Carly Smart dished out 23 assists with nine digs in the victory.
• Sophomore defensive specialist
Haley Toler led the defense with 10 digs.
• Junior middle blocker
Brianna Garvin and redshirt junior right-side hitter
Kheala Roberts each posted three assisted blocks.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• AUM never trailed in the opening set, scoring the first-four points to establish a 4-0 lead. The Warhawks boasted a match-high .444 hitting percentage in the opening set with a day-best 14 kills en route to the victory.
• Albany State took its first lead of the contest in the second stanza, scoring back-to-back points following a kill Roberts to take the 2-1 advantage before a 7-1 spree by the visitors made it an 8-3 lead for AUM. The Golden Rams managed to cut the deficit to two with a 3-0 spree to make it 11-9, but kills from junior setter
Courtney Green, Felder and Roberts back-to-back-to-back to recreate a five-point cushion which they maintained for the remainder of the frame.
• The Warhawks carried the momentum into the finale, jumping out to a commanding 7-0 lead. AUM held Albany State to a -.056 hitting percentage in the frame and never allowed them to get within six to close out the contest.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• AUM finished the match with 36 terminations on a .294 hitting percentage versus 25 kills on a .020 clip for the hosts.
• The Warhawks dominated the battle at the net, posting six total blocks while holding ASU without one.
• AUM held a 33-24 advantage in digs.
• Both teams ended the contest with four service aces.

"I'm pretty happy with what I saw from the team today," head coach
Melissa Robinson said. "We used our middle blockers today, something we had not done previously. Garvin set the done us defensively."

UP NEXT
The Warhawks are back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 13 when they play a doubleheader at Huntington College. AUM will take on Tuskegee at 6 p.m. with a match against the hosts at 8 p.m.
