MONTGOMERY, Ala. ----- The Auburn Montgomery men's soccer team fell in its home opener against Davenport 2-1 on Friday in its opening match of the 2017 Capital City Classic.
NOTES
• AUM fell to 0-3 on the year, while Davenport improved to 2-1.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS

Alexis Arriaga scored his first goal of the year in the 21st minute.
• Brogan Shimpton netted his fifth goal of the year for the Panthers in the 45th minute.
• Yovany Duran scored the opening goal for the Panthers in the 20th minute.

Stephen Ingram registered seven saves for the Warhawks in their tournament opener.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Davenport was in control of the first 20 minutes of the game, outshooting the Warhawks 6-0.
• Arriaga scored a magnificent goal in the 21st minute to put the Warhawks up 1-0. Arriaga drove down the right side of the field, lifted a high, arching shot from outside the 18 that sailed over the Panthers' keepers head and into the upper 90.
• The Panthers found the back of the net on their 11th shot of the half, when Duran found the back of the net for his first goal of the year in the 40th minute.
• Davenport took the lead for good in the 45th minute when Shrimpton capitalized on a cross by Noah Fetterolf for his fifth goal of the year.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• The Panthers outshot the Warhawks 25-3.
• The Panthers led the Warhawks in corner kicks 10-2.
• AUM registered seven saves, while Davenport did not record a stop.
