Union (11-1, 4-0 GSC) wraps up a five-game homestand on Thursday after besting West Georgia 84-78 on Tuesday, Jan. 2 for the team's sixth-straight win. The Bulldogs rank second in the Gulf South Conference in points and assists with 86.3 and 18.0, respectively, while also averaging 35.3 rebounds, 9.4 steals and 1.5 blocks.
Union's high-octane offense runs through Chelsey Shumpert, the NCAA Division II leader in scoring, with 25.3 points to go with a team-best 7.3 rebounds and 2.7 steals. Jada Perkins dishes out a team-leading 6.3 assists, the second-best average in the GSC, while Sara Lytles averages a team-high 0.9 blocks.
