Women’s Basketball Looks For Season Sweep Of Mississippi College On Thursday

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn Montgomery women's basketball team begins the final month of the regular season on Thursday, Feb. 1 at Mississippi College in a 5:30 p.m. Gulf South Conference contest.

About the Warhawks
AUM (8-12, 4-9 GSC) makes its lone trip to Mississippi this year after a 1-1 homestand, most recently falling 55-53 against West Alabama on Saturday, Jan. 27 despite outscoring the opposition 35-26 over the final 20 minutes. The Warhawks average 50.5 points, 35.3 rebounds, 11.0 assists, 9.0 steals and 3.7 blocks.
 
Junior guard/forward Evelina Avleeva leads the Warhawks in points and rebounds with marks of 10.8 and 6.5, respectively, while tying for the third-highest steals per game rate in the Gulf South Conference at 2.5. Redshirt-senior guard Kyla Rooks dishes out a team-best 2.5 assists while redshirt-sophomore center Bailee Wolfe blocks a team-leading 1.4 shots per contest, tied for the fourth-best average in the league.
 
About the Choctaws
Mississippi College (6-13, 2-11 GSC) hosts the Warhawks for the first time in program history after suffering a 58-38 setback against Delta State, AUM's Saturday opponent, on Saturday, Jan. 27. The Choctaws average 63.7 points, 38.5rebounds, 15.3 assists, 8.3 steals and 3.2 blocks.
 
Kelley Allen paces three Choctaws that average double-digit points with 13.1 to go with a team-leading 9.3 rebounds. Zan Ratcliffe records a team-high 5.0 assists per game while Lauran Sheriff boasts 1.4 steals and 1.2 blocks.
