Women’s Soccer Concludes GSC Play at Union and Christian Brothers

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn Montgomery women's soccer will take to the road this weekend and wrap up their 2018 Gulf South Conference slate with matches at Union on Thursday, Oct. 25 and at Christian Brothers on Saturday, Oct. 27.

About the Warhawks 
AUM (2-11, 2-9 GSC) heads to Tennessee for their final two GSC matchups of the 2018 season, fresh off of a pair of home overtime contests in their most recent work last weekend. The Warhawks battled hard against a pair of Mississippi-based schools, but fell 4-3 in overtime to Delta State on Friday, Oct. 19 and 2-1 to #19 Mississippi College on Sunday, Oct. 21.
 
Ruby Mendez leads the AUM attack, and sits second in the Gulf South Conference, with 32 points accumulated on the 2018 season. The junior forward has been responsible for 14 of the Warhawks 25 goals on the year, a mark that also ranks her second in the conference. Mendez also leads the Warhawks with four assists distributed on the year.
 
Mayson Jaindl (5) and Allison Singleterry (3) have both contributed for multiple goals scored on the season, while Melissa Fernandez (3) and Stella Mazzillo (2) have accounted for multiple assists in 2018.
 
In goal, Dejon Fletcher (2-6-0) and Felicia Wester have both seen significant time at keeper for AUM, with Fletcher leading the squad with 847 minutes and 53 saves.
 
The Warhawks will square off with Union for the fourth time in program history and against Christian Brothers for the just the second time. AUM holds an all-time record of 1-2 against the Bulldogs, and 0-1 against the Buccaneers 
 
About Union
Union (0-12-1, 0-10-1 GSC) dropped a pair of GSC road matches at Valdosta State on Friday, Oct. 19 and West Georgia on Sunday, Oct. in their most recent work.
 
The Bulldogs are currently averaging 0.62 goals per match, while allowing opponents to score 3.38 Anna Barkey leads the Bulldogs with four goals netted, while Tiffany Linser leads Union with three assists distributed. 
 
Anna Venckus (0-10-0) has seen the majority of playing time in goal for Union, while leading the bulldogs with 80 saves 
 
About the Buccaneers 
Christian Brothers (7-6-1, 6-5-0 GSC) heads into the final weekend of GSC regular season action having also fallen to both West Georgia and Valdosta State on the road in their most recent action. 
 
The Bucs are one of six teams in the GSC averaging two-plus goals a match, with a mark of 2.21 through 14 contests.  Tierney Snead leads the CBU attack with nine goals, while Bailey Tadlock leads the team with seven assists.
 
On the defensive side of the ball, the Buccaneers are currently allowing opponents to score 1.57 goals per contest. Riley Chafin has started in all 14 matches, while posting a 1.54 goals against average and two shutouts on the season.
 
Prior to their match with AUM, the Bucs will take on Montevallo on Thursday, Oct. 25 from Montevallo, Ala.
