MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Playing in their final match of the 2018 the Auburn Montgomery volleyball team will host #19 West Florida at the AUM Gymnasium on Saturday in Gulf South Conference play, as the Warhawks will look to avenge a 3-0 loss to the Argonauts earlier this season.

About the Warhawks
AUM is 11-19 on the season with a 2-13 mark in the GSC. After dropping 11 contests in a row the Warhawks have won two out of there last three matches, including a pair of 3-0 victories over Mississippi College and West Georgia.
The 11 wins on the season for the Warhawks is the most in a season for the second-year program, having gone 9-21 in their inaugural season. The two conference victories also set a new record for new league wins in a season, as AUM went 1-15 in 2017 in the GSC.
Senior middle blocker
Brianna Garvin leads the team in kills with 232, averaging 2.67 kills per set. She is also hitting for a .299 attack percentage, which is good enough for fourth place in the GSC. Garvin also leads the team in blocks with 88 and blocks per set at 1.01. Her blocks per set mark is good enough for sixth in the league while her total blocks are good enough for seventh.
Fellow senior
Carly Smart leads the team in assists with 691 which ranks seventh in the GSC. Smart's 7.27 assists per set ranks sixth in the league. Smart also leads the team in digs with 244 and service aces with 33.
This will be the second match of the season between the two squads, with then #15 UWF earning a 3-0 victory at home on Sept. 29. The Argos won 25-7, 27-25, 25-15, with UWF's Jordyn Poppen earning a match-high 10 kills.
AUM is 0-3 lifetime against the Argonauts, with UWF having yet to lose a set to the Warhawks.
About the Argonauts
UWF is 22-7 overall with a 14-1 mark in GSC play. The Argonauts lone conference loss came on the road against Alabama-Huntsville on Sept. 11, a 3-1 victory for the Chargers. UWF has won four straight matches after dropping three in a row at the South Region Crossover.
Four Argonauts have recorded 200 or more kills this season, with Poppen leading the way with 308. Poppen is also averaging 3.02 kills per set which ranks sixth in the league. Setters Brogan Wallin and Taylor Vaneekeren have combined for 1,131 assists. Wallin has posted 580 while Vaneekeren has tallied 551.
Makenzie Chrisman has been a force at the net for the Argos, tallying 133.0 total blocks this season which leads the GSC. Logan Kael leads the team and is fifth in the league in digs with 430.
UWF has already secured the No. 1 seed for the upcoming GSC Volleyball Championship and will receive a first round bye in the tournament.

This will be the final match of the season for AUM, who is in the third year of provisional NCAA Division II membership. The Warhawks will be eligible for the postseason beginning with the 2019-2020 academic year.
