MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Winners of three consecutive games including their home opener this past Sunday the Auburn Montgomery men's basketball team will open Gulf South Conference play this week, taking on Lee University on Thursday evening before taking on the University of Alabama in Huntsville on Saturday afternoon.

About the Warhawks
The Warhawks are 4-2 on the season and are coming off of a 72-58 victory over rival Spring Hill College this past Sunday. It was the 48th meeting between the two schools, with AUM now holding a 27-21 mark against the Badgers.
Junior guard
Carlos Bell recorded his second double-double of the season against Tuskegee on Nov. 20, scoring 11 points and pulling down 11 rebounds in the Warhawks' 80-71 win over the Golden Tigers. AUM is now 11-3 lifetime against Tuskegee.
AUM is led offensively by Bell, who is averaging 16.3 points per game. Three other Warhawks are averaging double figures in scoring, with
Tre Hansbrough at 13.7 ppg,
Darrion Taylor at 12.3 ppg, and
Stanley Davis at 10.0 ppg. Taylor also leads the team in assists with 20.
Bell also leads the team in rebounds with 50 on the year while junior center
Aaron Reddick is second on the team in boards with 46. Reddick is also leading the team in blocks with 13.
As a team the Warhawks are shooting .452 from the floor while holding opponents to a mark of .407.
AUM is 7-9 lifetime against Lee and 19-19 against UAH. The Flames earned an 82-63 victory over the Warhawks last season in Cleveland, Tenn., in the only meeting of the season. The game was the first contest played between the two schools since the 2012-13 season, an 87-67 victory for Lee. AUM's last victory over the Flames came on Dec. 4, 2008, a 71-69 win at home.
UAH won a 106-77 victory last season over the Warhawks to even the lifetime series at 19 wins apiece. Last years meeting was the first between the two programs since the 2011-12 season. Prior to that meeting, the two teams had not faced each other since the 1992-92 season, a 103-97 victory for AUM.
About the Flames
Lee is 1-5 on the season and are coming off of a 72-58 setback to King University on Monday at home. Thursday's game against AUM will not only by the Flames' first GSC contest of the season, but it will also be their first road game.
Four players are averaging double figures in scoring for Lee, with Michael McGuirk leading the way with 17.0 ppg. Ryan Montgomery is second on the team scoring with a 12.7 ppg average and leads the team in rebounds with 44. Kentrell Evans leads the team in assists with 24 and is tied for the team lead in steals with eight.
The two teams will play twice this season, with AUM travelling to the campus of the Flames on Feb. 16.
About the Chargers
UAH is 4-1 on the season and have also won three games in a row. The Chargers are coming off of an 88-43 victory over Trevecca Nazarene on Monday at home, and will play GSC West Georgia on Thursday evening before coming to Montgomery on Saturday.
Two players are averaging 10 or more points per game for the Chargers, with Sam Orf averaging 16.2 ppg to lead all players. JJ Kaplan leads the team in boards with 40, averaging 8.0 per contest. Dalton Barkley and Seth Swalve are tied for the team lead in assists with 18, while Orf leads the team in steals with five.
Saturday will be the only meeting this season between the two schools. It will also be Military Appreciation Day at AUM, with all service members getting free admission with military I.D.
