Carlos Bell and
Darrion Taylor each scored 25 and 20 points, respectively, and junior center/forward
Aaron Reddick tallied his second double-double wearing the Orange & Black but the Auburn Montgomery men's basketball squad could not slow down a hot-shooting Christian Brothers team, as the Buccaneers earned a 107-87 win on Saturday afternoon in Gulf South Conference play.
NOTES
• AUM falls to 4-8 on the season overall and 0-4 in GSC play.
• CBU improves to 6-4 this year with a 2-1 mark in league games.
• The Warhawks are now 1-2 lifetime against the Buccaneers.
• AUM has now dropped six consecutive contests.
• The Bucs tallied 24 3-pointers in the contest.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• Bell converted 10-of-16 field goal attempts, including three treys. He also finished a rebound shy of a double-double with nine in the contest.
• Taylor hit 6-of-12 field goals with three 3-pointers as well, tallying a team-high four assists.
• Reddick scored 16 and pulled down 12 boards with a block and a steal.
• CBU's Luke Rudy scored a game-high 44 points, connecting on 14 3-pointers.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• AUM ran out to a 9-4 lead with
EJ Card providing a 3-pointer at the 15:54 mark to give his squad a five-point advantage. CBU would go on an 11-4 run over the next two minutes, going up 15-13 on a Brad Miller trey to give the Bucs a two-point advantage.
• Leading 20-18 with 11:32 to play in the first half the Bucs would go on a 19-8 run to push their advantage to 39-26 with 5:31 until the break. The two teams would trade points back and forth the rest of the way, with CBU taking a 51-37 advantage into halftime.

Mikel Davis would score the first points of the second half to pull the Warhawks to within 12 points of the Bucs with 19:41 to play, but CBU's Luke Rudy would answer with a 3-pointer on their next possession to push the Bucs' advantage to 54-39.
• The Bucs would continue to push their lead over the next eight minutes, but the Warhawks would cut the deficit 77-59 with 10:10 to go. AUM would cut the deficit to 20 points on multiple occasions the rest of the way, but could not cut further into the CBU advantage and would fall 107-87.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
• The Warhawks shot 52.9 percent in the contest while the Bucs shot 58.1 percent from the floor.
• CBU converted 24-of-45 3-point attempts while AUM hit 8-of-20.
• AUM won the rebounding battle 33-32.
• Each team committed nine turnovers.
UP NEXT
The Warhawks will have the next two weeks off before coming back to campus for a GSC doubleheader with league foe the University of Montevallo set for Jan 3, 2019. The two women's programs will square off at 6 p.m. and the men's team tipping off at 8 p.m.
