Women’s Basketball Back in Action with Road Matchup at (RV)Anderson

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn Montgomery women's basketball team will return to action following a two-week hiatus from competition on Sunday, Dec. 30 when they take on the Trojans of Anderson University in Anderson, S.C.

About the Warhawks
AUM (0-10, 0-4 GSC) heads into their final contest of the 2018 portion of their schedule having dropped a 55-43 Gulf-South-Conference matchup at Christian Brothers on Saturday, Dec. 15 their last time out. Evelina Avleeva notched her second double-double of the season with 17 points and 12 rebounds on the day, while Victoria Morales matched a season-high with 12 points in the setback.
 
Two Warhawks are currently averaging in double figures in scoring, with Jordan Brewster (14.3) and Avleeva (10.4) leading the charge offensively for AUM. Brewster unofficially paces the GSC with 38 three-pointers made, and a 3.8 three's-per-game average. 
 
Avleeva leads AUM in the rebounding department, with an 8.1 boards-per-game average that ranks among the top ten performers in the GSC. Morales and Aaliyah Milord have both also been steady contributors on the glass, with Morales averaging 6.7 rebounds per game and Milord averaging 6.3.
 
Through ten games, the Warhawk's 47 blocked shots and 4.7 blocks per game both lead all teams in the Gulf South. Morales's 12 blocks and 1.2 blocks per contest mark for the team high, while both ranking her among the top-five players in the conference. 
 
AUM holds an all-time series advantage of 3-1 over the Trojans, dating back to the 1995-96 season. The Warhawks dropped the most recent meeting between the two teams 74-43 last season at home. 
 
About the Trojans
(RV) Anderson University (9-2, 4-0 SAC) comes into their meeting with the Warhawks on Sunday riding a seven-game winning streak. The Trojans bested Lincoln Memorial 68-55 at home in Southern Atlantic Conference action in their most recent contest on December 19.
 
Anderson was receiving votes in the most recent national rankings compiled by WBCA, while coming in at number 23 in the D2SIDA national rankings. The Trojans bring an unblemished home record of 6-0 on the season into their contest with AUM on Sunday. 
 
The Trojans are currently averaging 73.7 points per game, while allowing their opponents to score just 61 points per contest. Ace Easter leads the Anderson attack with a 17.8 points per game scoring average, while Alexy Mollenhauer sits second on the squad with 17.7 points per game and leads the team with 11.7 rebounds per contest.
