MONTGOMERY, Ala. – After earning a 5-4 victory over Gulf South Conference foe Alabama Huntsville on Friday evening the Auburn Montgomery softball team dropped games two and three on Saturday, falling 4-1 and 7-2 in a doubleheader at the AUM Softball Complex.
NOTES
• AUM falls to 6-4 on the season and 3-3 in GSC play.
• UAH improves to 11-5 with a 3-3 mark in league action.
• The Chargers win the series, 2-1.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• Senior outfielder
Kalee Sparks went 3-for-6 at the plate in the two games, with a double and a run batted in.
• Freshman infielder
Kasidy Thompson was 2-for-5, with a double and a triple, a run scored and an RBI.
• UAH's Brooke Miller was 4-for-6 on the day, with three doubles and two RBI.
• Pitcher Kiara Akles pitched a complete game in game one for the Chargers, allowing one run (unearned) on two hits with five strikeouts to improve to 3-2 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME ONE
• UAH took a 1-0 lead on a Reagan Malone single to centerfield which plated Shelby Booker from second.
• Brooke Miller singled to drive in Malone moments later, giving the Chargers a 2-0 advantage.
• The Chargers plated two more runs in the top of the sixth, scoring on a single and an AUM error to go up 4-0.
• The Warhawks were able to scratch a run across in the bottom of the seventh on an UAH error, but could not get the rally going and falling 4-1.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE – GAME ONE
• Akles took a perfect game into the fourth and a no-hitter into the fifth.
• AUM scored one run on two hits with two errors.
• UAH scored four runs on 11 hits with one error.
• Warhawk starter
Natalie Johnsey (1-1) took the loss for AUM, allowing four runs on eight hits with six strikeouts in 5.1 innings.
HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME TWO
• For the first time in this series AUM struck first in game two as Sparks doubled to left center to drive in
Hannah Dailey from second in the bottom of the first.
• A dropped fly ball by AUM led to a runner scoring for UAH in the top of the third, tying the game at 1-1.
• AUM took a 2-1 lead in the fourth on a
Parker Pinholster infield single which scored Thompson from third.
• UAH would go on to score five runs in the top of the fifth, highlighted by a Miller double to left center which scored a run.
• The Chargers would add another run in the top of the seventh to take a 7-2 lead.
• AUM would get runners to second and third in the bottom of the seventh, but could not get any more runs across to fall by five runs to UAH.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE – GAME TWO
• AUM scored two runs on seven hits while committing four errors in the contest.
• UAH tallied seven runs on six hits with one error.
• The Chargers stole seven bases while AUM stole one.

The Warhawks will play non-conference foe Clark Atlanta on Thursday, March 1, at 1 p.m. at the AUM Softball Complex.
