MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn Montgomery men's basketball team will host #20 West Florida this Thursday at the AUM Gymnasium in Gulf South Conference play, as the Warhawks will look to sweep the season series with the Argonauts with a victory.

About the Warhawks
The Warhawks are 9-14 on the season with a 5-10 mark in Gulf South Conference play. AUM went 1-2 last week, falling to Tuskegee and Delta State while defeating Mississippi College, playing all three contests on the road.
Junior guard
Desmond DeRamus became the first Warhawk to hit the 1,000-point plateau since Nathan Thomas (1,090) did it in 2010. The Jefferson Davis High School alum recorded his 1,000
th point against Mississippi College last Thursday in the first half, stealing a pass and using a fastbreak layup to set the mark. He now stands at 1,035 points for his career.
This will be the second meeting between the two teams this season, with the Warhawks defeating then #13 UWF 73-70 on Jan. 21. Senior forward
Lafayette James-Core scored a game-high 24 points while also recording three steals and a block.
AUM is now 5-5 lifetime against UWF, and are 3-1 this season against nationally ranked opponents.
About the Argonauts
UWF is 20-3 on the season with a 12-3 mark in the Gulf South. They are currently second in the league standings, trailing only #12 Valdosta State (21-2, 14-1 GSC). The Argonauts are 3-2 in their last five contests and are coming off of a 97-55 victory over Shorter University this past Saturday.
With the victory over the Hawks UWF has matched the program record for wins in a season (1967-68, 2016-17), and will look to set the school record for wins in a season against AUM on Thursday.
Four players are averaging double figures for the Argos, with senior forward Darryl Tucker leading the team at 16.1 points per game. Tucker also leads the team in rebounds, with a 9.4 rebound per game average.
The Argonauts have already clinched a berth in the 2017-18 Gulf South Conference Championship.
