Softball To Host Huntingdon In Doubleheader

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn Montgomery softball will host cross-town foe Huntingdon College in a doubleheader set to begin at 5 p.m. at the AUM Softball Complex. The games were originally slated for Tuesday but were moved due to a scheduling conflict due to inclement weather earlier this season.

About the Warhawks
AUM is 12-9 on the season with a 7-8 mark in Gulf South Conference play. The Warhawks have dropped four games in a row including a three-game sweep by Gulf South Conference foe Valdosta State this past week at the AUM Softball Complex. Prior to losing streak the Warhawks had won five in a row before the skid began.
 
Freshman infielder Hannah Dailey leads the team in runs batted in (10) and runs scored (16) and is tied for the team lead in hits with 16. Senior Kalee Sparks and sophomore Jaycie Walker have also notched 16 hits this season with Walker leading the team in total bases with 26.
 
Sophomore Chanel Newcomer leads the team in earned run average with a mark of 1.85, tallying 46 strikeouts over 56.2 innings pitched for a record of 6-4. Newcomer also has two saves on the season with opponents batting only .196 against her.
 
About the Hawks
HC is 11-13 this season with a 6-4 mark in away games this year. The Hawks are coming off of a doubleheader sweep by Millsaps College on Tuesday, falling 5-3 and 3-2 to the Majors at home.
 
Junior Alyssa Singleterry leads the team in batting average with a mark of .438. Singlettery has recorded a team-high 32 hits while driving in a team-best 13 runs while scoring 20 runs for the Hawks. Senior pitcher Lindsey Selph has tallied a team-high 68 K's while posting a team-best 3.60 ERA.
