MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn Montgomery softball team will host Georgia Southwestern in a doubleheader set to begin at 2 p.m. at the AUM Softball Complex as the Warhawks will look to stay undefeated at home against non-conference opponents this season.

About the Warhawks
AUM is 17-12 this season and are coming off of a 2-1 series loss against Gulf South Conference opponent Montevallo this past weekend. The Warhawks are now 5-4 in road games with a 10-11 mark in league play.
 
Sophomore Jaycie Walker hit her second and third home runs of the season against the Falcons and now leads the team in batting average (.359), slugging percentage (.679) and extra base hits (17) on the year. Senior outfielder Kalee Sparks leads the team in hits with 29 on the season and is second on the team in batting average with a mark of .322.
 
Chanel Newcomer leads all pitchers with 89.1 innings pitched and 65 strikeouts for the Warhawks, as the sophomore moved to 10-5 on the season with a victory and a loss at Montevallo. Opponents are batting .198 against Newcomer, who also leads the team in earned run average with a mark of 2.04.
 
This will be the first two meetings between the programs.
 
About the Hurricanes
GSW is 16-21 this year overall with a 6-11 mark in away games. A member of the Peach Belt Conference, the Hurricanes are 5-5 in league play. GSW is coming off of a doubleheader split against PBC opponent Augusta University this past Friday, falling 2-1 in game one before earning a 4-2 victory in game two.
 
The Hurricanes are led offensively by junior Hayley Tierce who leads the team in batting average (.355), slugging percentage (.785), hits (38), RBI (40) and home runs (13). Senior outfielder Mikela Barlow leads the team in stolen bases with 10 and walks with 27.
 
Junior hurler Madason Messer leads the team in K's with 36 and victories with a record of 7-3. Messer is second on the team in ERA with a mark of 4.53, while teammate Shannon Gibson leads the team in that category with a mark of 4.31.
 
Up Next
The Warhawks will host Gulf South Conference foe Shorter University this Saturday and Sunday in a three-game series. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. for a doubleheader on Saturday followed by a single game on Sunday beginning at 1 p.m.
