69031. Where are you living now and what are you doing? Did you know you always wanted to do what you are doing professionally?
I live in the Montgomery area (Mathews, Ala.) and have been a lawyer with the firm of Beasley, Allen, Crow, Methvin, Portis and Miles for 33 years. I had no idea I wanted to go to law school until my senior year and was called to serve on a grand jury.

2. How did your time as a student and student-athlete at AUM prepare you for your career and life after college?
I soon learned in order to be a student-athlete you had to be disciplined. I learned about time management very quickly. Both of these attributes have served me well in my professional career.

3. What are some of your goals for the future, both personally and professionally?
I have been blessed both personally and professional. I have had a great career helping people and my wife and I have raised two children. One will be attending University of Alabama and my daughter will finish her senior year of high school and attend college somewhere, so personally those are goals that I have achieved and am proud of.

4. When is the last time you've been to campus? How has the campus changed?6902
I was at AUM in July of 2018 to watch my daughter play in the Alabama High School North-South All Star Volleyball game. I have attended many basketball games over the years. When I attended AUM initially there were only three buildings and we were in the process of building the gym.  When you look at the campus now, it is amazing to see the growth and expansion.

5. What originally attracted you to AUM as a student-athlete?
I had just moved to Montgomery, because my father had retired from the Air Force, so it was easy for me to attend AUM. I then joined the basketball team as a walk-on.

6. What are some of your most memorable moments from your time as a student-athlete at AUM?
I remember the relationships that I made with other players being a member of the team.

69017. How often do you keep in touch with your former teammates?
We had a 20-year reunion where we all got together and I generally see one or two at games.

8. What are some things you enjoy doing in your free time?6900
I have enjoyed watching my children play high school sports. I am an avid waterfowl hunter and I have a couple of Labrador Retrievers that I campaign in field trials.

9. What advice would you have for the current student-athletes at AUM?
Just to hang in there and persevere.
