JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – The Auburn Montgomery women's cross country team notched a seventh place team finish at the 2018 Struts Cross Country Season Opener on Friday evening, finishing just behind host Jacksonville State in the 5k race with an average time of 21:56.10.
NOTES
• As a team the Warhawks finished ahead of cross town rival Alabama State, as well as Alabama A&M and Tuskegee.
• Kennesaw State took the top spot with an average time of 19:39.94 while Troy (20:14.46) and Mercer (20:27.56) finished second and third respectively.
• The Orange & Black boasted three top-50 finishers, including a top-20 finish by
Benisse Inamahoro.
• The AUM men's team did not compete at this event.
INDIVIDUAL FINISHES
• Senior
Benisse Inamahoro paced the Warhawks with a time of 20:26.80, finishing 17th in the event.
• Junior
Gladys Rutto recorded a time of 21:28.20 to finish 42nd.
• Freshman
Isabella Gyori was right behind Rutto, finishing 43rd with a mark of 21:31.80.
• Senior
Tanishya Jones finished 65th with a time of 22:46.10.

Victoria McCurry ran a time of 23:27.60 to finish 77th.
• Senior
Danielle Riggs posted a mark of 24:49.90 to finish 95th.
UP NEXT
Both the men's and women's team will hit the trail again on Saturday, Sept. 15 at the 2018 Falcon Classic hosted by Gulf South Conference foe the University of Montevallo.
