MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn Montgomery volleyball team open Gulf South Conference play on Tuesday evening when the Warhawks travel to the University of Montevallo for a match set to begin at 6 p.m. on the campus of the Falcons.

About the Warhawks
After starting the season 0-2 the Warhawks (8-2, 0-0 GSC) have reeled off eight consecutive victories and find themselves sitting at 8-2. The eight straight wins are a program best for the Orange & Black, with the previous mark being three consecutive victories. The Warhawks are also one win away from matching their victory total from last season, when AUM went 9-21 in its inaugural season.
Junior outside hitter
Sommer Rhea leads the team in kills with 93 while senior middle blocker
Brianna Garvin tops the team in hitting percentage with a mark of .383. Garvin also leads the team in blocks with 23 total (11 solo) while Rhea is second on the team in hitting percentage (.321), digs (72) and service aces (10).
Senior setter
Carly Smart leads the team in assists with 202, averaging 7.21 per set while also leading the team in aces with 15. Freshman
Emily Ward has tallied 91 digs to lead all Warhawks.
AUM is 1-1 lifetime against the Falcons with UM earning a 3-0 victory over the Warhawks last season at the AUM Gymnasium before the Falcons won a 3-1 decision at the Trustmark Arena.
About the Falcons
UM is currently on a seven-match win streak after going 3-0 at the 2018 AUM Invitational and 3-0 at the 2018 Tusculum Volleyball Invitational the past two weekends. Sophomore outside hitter Amanda Nugent leads the team in kills with 91, and has accounted for 106.5 points for the Falcons.
Setters Harley Masoner and Savannah Roys lead the team in assists with 169 and 159, respectively, while libero Brie Blume leads the team in digs with 125.
