Men’s Soccer Suffers Double-Overtime Loss at Milligan College

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, Tenn. – The Auburn Montgomery men's soccer team dropped a dramatic 3-2 road match to the Buffaloes of Milligan College in double overtime on Saturday, Sept. 15th.

- With the loss, AUM's record drops to 1-4 on the season.
- The loss snaps a two-match win streak over Milligan College, dating back to 2010.
- Saturday's match marked for the first overtime game for AUM in 2018. 
 
Standout Performers
- Billy Murphy scored his team-leading second goal of the season, while Alexis Arriaga recorded his first goal of the 2018 season in the match.
- William York and Austin Sun Chee Fore both accounted for an assist in the contest.
- Goalkeeper Alexander Kraus (0-3) grabbed two saves on the day
 
How It Happened
- The Warhawks cracked the scoreboard first in the 18th minute, when York set up Murphy for his second goal of the season.
- AUM added their second goal of the first period in the 37th minute, on Arriaga's first goal of the season. Sun Chee Fore helped set up the score. 
- The Buffaloes would grab a late first-period goal in the 43rd minute, to make the score 2-1 in AUM's favor heading into the break. 
- Milligan would go on to tie the match at two-all in the 77th minute, with the only scoring action of the second period that would eventually send the match to overtime. 
- The game-winning goal for the Buffaloes came in the 107th minute of the match in double overtime.

- The Warhawks took nine shots in the match, with four in the first period, four in the second period and one in second overtime period.
- Four of AUM's shots came on goal.
