Warhawks To Take On Montevallo On Saturday

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn Montgomery men's basketball team will hit the road on Saturday to take on Gulf South Conference foe the University of Montevallo in a league contest, as the Warhawks will look to sweep the season series with the Falcons.

About the Warhawks
The Warhawks are 6-10 on the season with a 2-6 mark in league play. AUM is coming off of an 87-69 victory over Shorter University last Saturday on the campus of the Hawks. Junior forward Aaron Reddick tied his career-high in scoring with 24 points while the team went a perfect 21-for-21 at the free throw line.
 
AUM won an 82-80 decision over Montevallo on Jan. 3, with senior guard Kenneth Keith scoring a game-high 21 points in the win. Junior guard Darrion Taylor scored 20 while dishing out a season-best eight assists in the victory.
 
Four players are averaging double figures in scoring with junior guard Carlos Bell leading the way with 16.0 points per game. Taylor is second on the team with a 12.9 ppg average while also leading the team in assists with 53. Reddick is also scoring 11.4 ppg while leading the team in rebounds with 8.4 per contest, which is tied for GSC lead with West Georgia's Marquill Smith.
 
Reddick is also second in the league in blocks with 26.
 
AUM is now 30-25 lifetime against the Falcons, with the two teams not playing each other from 1996-97 until the 2016-17 season.
 
About the Falcons
Montevallo is 7-11 on the year and 3-5 in the GSC. The Falcons are coming off of a 65-55 setback at Lee University on Thursday, with sophomore guard Micah Fuller scoring a team-high 15 points. Junior forward Wade Lowman recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds against the Flames.
 
Fuller leads the team in scoring with 193 points, averaging 11.4 ppg. De'Marco Owens is averaging 10.5 ppg and Lowman is averaging 10.4 ppg. Owens also leads the team in rebounds with 130.
 
In the last meeting between the two teams junior guard Carl Johnson scored a team-high 18 points while also dishing out three assists. Lowman scored 16, Owens scored 15 and Fuller scored 11 in the setback against the Warhawks.
