MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn Montgomery women's basketball team will kick off the 2019 portion of their schedule with a home Gulf-South-Conference contest against the University of Montevallo on Thursday, Jan. 3 from the AUM Gymnasium.

About the Warhawks
AUM (0-11, 0-4 GSC) heads into their 2019 home opener coming off of a 73-52 loss at Anderson University on Sunday, Dec. 30 in their most recent work.
The Warhawks hold an all-time series lead of 25-10 over the Falcons, including wins in their last two meetings, and five of their last six matchups dating back to the 2006-07 season. AUM knocked off Montevallo 49-40 at home in their most recent meeting on Jan. 25 of the 2017-18 season.
Freshman guard
Jordan Brewster leads the AUM offense with a 14.7 points per game clip, with double-digit scoring performances in nine of 11 games this season for the orange and black. The Lenoir City, Tenn. native's 43 three-pointers made and 3.9 three's per game both serve as marks that lead all GSC performers.
Senior forward
Evelina Avleeva also brings a double-digit scoring average into Thursday's contest, with a 10.3 points-per-game mark. Avleeva leads AUM, while ranking among the top 10 in the GSC, with an eight rebounds per game average, while also leading the Warhawks in steals per game at 1.6.
The Warhawk's 48 blocked shots and 4.4 blocks per game both unofficially serve as the GSC's best mark, while junior forward
Victoria Morales's 1.2 blocks per game ranks among the top five individuals in the conference.
About the Falcons
Montevallo (7-4, 3-1 GSC) comes into their matchup with the Warhawks on a three-game winning streak, including a 42-37 GSC win at home against Shorter on Dec. 17 their last time out.
The Falcons are currently averaging 64.7 points per game, while allowing opponents to score 62.6. Montevallo ranks among the top-five teams in the conference in rebounding, averaging 41.7 total boards per contest.
Two Montevallo players are currently averaging in double figures, with Nautika Philpot's 15.4 points per game ranking fifth among individuals in the GSC. Kourtnie Smith's 10.5 points per game ranks for second on the team, while her 8.7 rebounds per contest lead the Falcons and rank fifth in the conference.
