Warhawks To Host UWA On Monday

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn Montgomery men's basketball squad will host Gulf South Conference foe the University of West Alabama on Monday evening, as the Warhawks look to stay undefeated in the new year with they welcome the Tigers to the AUM Gymnasium.

About the Warhawks
The Warhawks are 5-8 on the year and 1-4 in the GSC after picking up their first league victory of the season over the University of Montevallo this past Thursday. The Warhawks earned an 82-80 victory over the Falcons to snap a six-game losing skid. Senior guard Kenneth Keith scored a season-high 21 points in the win, with junior guard Darrion Taylor adding 20 to the Warhawks' total.
 
Taylor also tallied a season-high eight assists, adding to his team-leading 48 on the year. Junior guard Carlos Bell tallied 14 points in the victory over UM, and currently leads the team in scoring with 221 points on the season.
 
Junior center/forward Aaron Reddick leads the team in rebounds with 109, averaging 8.4 per contest. Reddick also leads the team and the conference in blocks with 24 this season.
 
AUM is 4-8 lifetime against the Tigers, having lost seven in a row to UWA. The Warhawks last victory over the Tigers came on Jan. 16, 2010, a 65-64 victory for the Orange & Black.
 
About the Tigers
UWA is 8-4 on the season and 3-2 in league play. The Tigers are coming off of a 78-75 setback to #9 Valdosta State on Saturday, having lost on a last second 3-pointer by the Blazers' Beau Justice. The Tigers are now 2-2 in road games this season, and are 3-2 in their last five games.
 
The Tigers currently lead the GSC in defense, holding opponents to a league-low 62.7 points per game. UWA is also second in the league in rebounding margin, posting 6.5 more rebounds than their opponents per game this season.
 
Senior guard Josh Fleming leads the team in scoring, averaging 12.4 points per game, while junior forward Ricky Dunnaway tops the squad in rebounds with 6.2 rpg. Junior guard LaJuan Hardy leads the team in assists with 64 and steals with 24.
