HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Orange and Black delivered the opening salvo courtesy of Elkin's ninth-minute goal, as Dean would play him a ball perfectly into the box for the header opportunity. The early strike marked for the third time this season that AUM has scored a go-ahead goal within the first 10 minutes of game time.
- The Tigers would go on to get several scoring looks in the half, including a pair of shots from inside the box in the 19th minute, with the first being saved by Kraus and the latter missing wide.
- The Tigers would go on to get one of the first good looks of half number two in the 53rd minute, but a leaping Kraus would get a fingertip on the Tiger attack to keep them off the board for the time being.
- West Alabama would go on to get their equalizer in the 86th minute, as a ball from Vince Stans would be played into the box from left-to-right and find Adam Zayed, who turned and fired it into the upper-90 for the game-tying strike.
- The Tigers came inches away from delivering the golden goal in overtime period number one, on a strike from Maxime Correia that clanked off the crossbar and fell down just in front of the AUM goal. A follow-up shot by Vince Stans just seconds later would be blocked by the AUM backline to survive the scoring threat.
- Overtime period number two saw AUM outshoot UWA 3-1, but neither team would be able to crack the scoreboard, giving way to the 1-1 draw.
