About the Warhawks
The Warhawks will do battle with the Sailfish for the first time since transitioning into NCAA DII status, while their meeting with Montevallo will be the final game in a three-game homestand that started on October 11.
Despite dropping their previous game to West Alabama in overtime, AUM had several chances to strengthen their lead thanks to efforts from
Ruby Mendez and
Milian Mollison. Both forwards have continued to get stronger this season and lead the team in points.
Goalkeeper
Dejon Fletcher continues to put up quality outings this season after netting 14 saves over the last two games she has played. Fletcher and
Chloe Kistler have both seen time in net for AUM and have kept their team in games with stellar play.
Mendez continues to chase history, as with her goal in the 9' minute against Alabama Huntsville, she moved into a tie for third place all-time in goals scored. The California native needs one more goal to pass Victoria Ekwenuke (2002-05) for sole possession of third place.
About the Falcons
Montevallo (6-2-3) has registered at least a draw in eight of their last 10 games and boasts a 4-1-1 GSC record, which is good for second place in the conference. The Falcons will make the short drive down to Montgomery on Thursday, before returning home to host Lee and Shorter.
The Falcons have been very productive on the road this season as they sport a 3-1 record away from home. Montevallo will be playing their first road game since their 4-3 win over Spring Hill College on October 6.
Sophomore forward Romee Contreras leads her squad in scoring this season with five goals and three assists. Her 13 points on the year are best on the team and good for 11
th in the Gulf South Conference.
Annie Mason has seen the bulk of the action in goal for the Falcons to begin the season, earning starts in nine of the team's 11 contests. Mason has a 5-1-3 record under her belt and has stopped .894% of the shots she has faced while allowing just 0.52 goals per game.
Montevallo has a spotless record against Auburn Montgomery in their short history. The two programs have had two meetings all-time, with Montevallo winning both games.
About the Sailfish
Palm Beach Atlantic (4-5) will host Lynn University on Wednesday before hosting the Warhawks on Sunday afternoon. PBA has lost four straight games leading into their contest against Lynn, most recently, a 2-0 loss to No. 11 Rollins.
The Sailfish's success has been split between both at home and on the road. Palm Beach Atlantic has a 2-2 home record and has netted a 2-3 record away from West Palm Beach. PBA's 1-4 conference record places them 7
th in the Sunshine State.
Karina Williams and Michaela Boyd share the team lead in points with six. Boyd has the edge in goals scored with three on the year, while Williams has netted two goals and has added two assists to her 2019 totals.
Madison Chiola has started all nine games for the Sailfish and has been responsible for the four wins and five losses that Palm Beach Atlantic has accumulated. Chiola has a .830 save percentage and has allowed just over one goal per game.
The Warhawks will travel to West Palm Beach for the first time in school history on Sunday, and their meeting with the Sailfish will be the second match against a school from the Sunshine State Conference this season.
