Singleterry Scores Lone Goal In Road Loss To Sailfish

West Palm Beach, Fla. – The Auburn University at Montgomery women's soccer team fell on the road in non-conference action to Palm Beach Atlantic on Sunday afternoon 4-1.

Game Notes
- Palm Beach Atlantic used four different goal scorers in the winning effort.
- The Warhawks fall to 1-11 on the year.
- PBA raises their record to 6-5 in 2019.

Standout Performers
- Senior midfielder Allison Singleterry scored the only goal of the game for the Warhawks in the 50' minute.
Ruby Mendez led the Orange & Black in shots with two.
- Dejon Fletcher was stellar in the second half of the game and netted 12 saves in the contest.

How it Happened
- The match started with Palm Beach Atlantic on the attack. However, thanks to Trinity Prater and Torai Slaughter, the Sailfish were called for offside twice in the first five minutes of the game and kept PBA off the board.
- The Sailfish would jump on the board first with two goals in 17 seconds in the 14' minute. The initial goal of the match came from Karina Williams, who found herself in the upper left of the penalty area, then she chipped the keeper up and to the left. Just seconds later, Cheyenne Beck took a ball that got past two Warhawk defenders and tapped home her team's second goal.
- Palm Beach Atlantic would add one more goal right before the half when Gaby Walker took down a Sailfish attacker in the box. Jaycie Tate would step up from the spot and convert the game's third goal to give PBA a 3-0 lead going into the break.
- On the opening kickoff of the second half, Palm Beach Atlantic ran down the field and had an excellent scoring chance, as a ball was played to the feet of a Sailfish attacker, but the ball was shot high, and the game remained 3-0.
- PBA would extend their lead to four in the 49' minute when Kylie Meola took a pass from teammates Kylee Rullo and Trine Seistrup and slotted the ball past Flecther and into the back of the net.
- Moments later, Brianna Yurkovich sent in a corner kick to the feet of Singleterry, who shot the ball to the near post. The shot ricocheted off a Sailfish defender and into the net to trim the lead to 4-1.
- The Warhawks would attempt to muster a comeback. However, their offense could not mount any sustainable pressure, and it eventually led to more attacks from Palm Beach Atlantic. Neither side was able to score a goal past the 50' minute, and the game ended at 4-1.
