The Auburn Montgomery volleyball team will hit the road this weekend to take on Gulf South Conference opponents Shorter University and Lee University on Friday and Saturday, respectively, as the Warhawks look to set the new program record for victories in a season with a win against either opponent.

About the Warhawks
AUM is now 11-10 on the season with a 3-4 mark in GSC matches this year. The Warhawks are also 1-3 in road matches. AUM picked up a pair of victories on Tuesday, earning 3-0 decisions over Clark Atlanta and Albany State in a dual match.

With the victory over ASU on Tuesday the Warhawks tied the program record for wins in a season with 11. The mark was set last season when AUM went 11-20 in just their second year of existence.

As a team AUM is currently fourth in the GSC in kills (952), fifth in assists (952), fifth in digs (1342) and sixth in service aces (112).

Senior outside hitter
Sommer Rhea leads the team and is seventh in the GSC kills with 220. Junior setter
Isadora Nicolai leads the team and is second in the GSC in assists with 731. Nicolai is also fifth in the conference with a team-high 27 aces. Junior libero/outside hitter
Carla Butler leads the team and is seventh in the league in digs with 316 and senior middle blocker
Ariadne Borges leads the team and is eighth in the GSC in blocks with 64.

The Warhawks are 0-2 against both Shorter and Lee in program history.

About The Hawks
Shorter is 7-15 on the season with a 0-7 mark in league matches. The Hawks are also 0-4 at home this season. SU is coming off of a 1-2 showing at the 2019 GSC/SSC Crossover, earning a 3-1 victory over Florida Southern on Friday before dropping decisions to Rollins College and Spring Hill College.

Mirella Gatterdam leads the team and is ninth in the GSC in kills with 250. Gatterdam is one of four Hawks that have reached triple digits in kills this year. Kendall Vondra leads the team in assists with 483, Paris Buckner leads the team in blocks with 58 and Emily Wilson leads the team in digs with 476.

About the Flames
Lee is 9-14 this season and are 2-6 in the GSC. The Flames have lost four in a row but are 7-4 in home matches. They are coming off of a 3-0 setback to the University of Montevallo this past Tuesday.

Four players have reached triple digits in kills this year, with Abby Stroh leading the way with 239. Hanna Matthews is leading the team and is third in the GSC in assists with 718. Stroh is also second in the league in aces with 37. Micaela McMichen leads the team and is second in the GSC in digs with 425 and Mary Katherine Givhan leads the team in blocks with 35.
