Volleyball Travels To Albany State, Continues Critical GSC Stretch

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Auburn University at Montgomery volleyball team will take their four-match win streak on the road to Albany State on Tuesday before returning home to face Gulf South Conference opponents Christian Brothers and Union over the weekend.

About the Warhawks
The Warhawks (13-10, 5-4 GSC) will be entering the week winners of four consecutive matches and are in the middle of an intense playoff race within the Gulf South Conference. AUM currently holds the sixth seed in the GSC, with Montevallo and Union ahead of them in the standings.
 
AUM is coming off a perfect 4-0 week after defeating Albany State and Clark Atlanta in a dual home match on Tuesday, then the Orange & Black went on the road to earn 3-1 victories over Shorter and Lee.
 
The Warhawks as a team are currently 3rd in the conference in hitting percentage (.203), 2nd in assists (11.31/gm) and 3rd in kills per game (12.25).
 
Senior outside hitter Sommer Rhea was unstoppable over the weekend, netting back-to-back double-doubles, leading her squad in kills and digs in both games against Shorter and Lee.
 
Isadora Nicolai recorded 90 assists over the weekend in Gulf South Conference play, garnering 42 helpers against Shorter, and netting 48 tallies against the Lady Flames on Saturday.
  
About The Golden Rams
ASU has a 13-11 record overall, with 10 of their victories coming in conference play. The Golden Rams have suffered two consecutive losses, one of which was to the Warhawks. ASU will play Clark Atlanta before their meeting with the Orange & Black on Tuesday.
 
Albany State now has four players who have surpassed the century mark in kills this season, with Lenee Blot reaching over 100 kills in 2019. The Golden Rams are currently swinging at a .163 clip, and have held opponents to a .166 mark.
 
About The Lady Buccaneers
Christian Brothers has a record of 6-19 on the year while sporting a 3-6 conference mark. The Lady Bucs currently hold the final playoff spot in the Gulf South Conference, as they sit in 8th place in the league.
 
Emma Lenoir leads the team in kills this season with 341. The senior outside hitter has tallied 121 of those kills inside GSC competition. Mollie Wadsworth has also seen success while playing against GSC schools, netting 105 kills.

About The Bulldogs
Union enters the new week with a record of 15-9 and currently lock down fourth place in the conference with a 7-2 GSC mark. The Bulldogs have had an even home/road split on the season, going 6-3 at home while netting a 4-2 road record.

Union has spread out their attack this season, with six different players recording at least 100 kills so far in 2019. Meghan Delaney paces the Bulldogs in kills for the 2019 season, registering 369 attacks.
