Women’s Soccer Embarks On Mississippi Road Trip

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn University at Montgomery women's soccer team will embark on their final road trip of the season with matches against Gulf South Conference opponents Mississippi College and Delta State.

ABOUT THE WARHAWKS
The Warhawks will come into their matchup with the Lady Choctaws coming off one of their best games of the year against No. 15 Lee. AUM held the Lady Flames to just one goal in the losing effort.  

AUM's trip through Mississippi will be the final road trip of the 2019 season. The Orange & Black will return home for the last two games of the year against Union University and Christian Brothers.  

Three newcomers have registered at least one point in 2019. Emily Cruce has recorded an assist so far this season, while Brianna Yurkovich has netted two helpers. Milian Mollison leads all AUM freshman in goals scored and points, registering three goals and one assist.

Dejon Fletcher has recorded 73 saves this season, which puts her tied for second place in the Gulf South Conference. Combined, both Fletcher and Chloe Kistler lead the GSC in saves with 120.
 
ABOUT THE LADY CHOCTAWS 
Mississippi College (11-1, 9-0 GSC) has suffered just one loss through 12 games this season. The Lady Choctaws dropped their second game of the season to Sunshine State foe Saint Leo on September 6.

Katie Taylor currently paces the Lady Choctaws in points this season with 26. Taylor also ranks third in the GSC in points with 26, averaging 2.17 points per game, which places her first in the conference in that category.   
 
ABOUT THE LADY STATESMEN
Delta State (4-5-4, 4-4-1 GSC) currently anchor the last playoff position in the Gulf South Conference. The Lady Statesmen will take a two-game losing streak into their match with Montevallo, before hosting the Orange & Black on Sunday.  

Delta State has scored seven goals this season, and they have spread out their scoring with six different goal scorers. Tasha Toms leads the way for the Lady Statesmen with two goals on seven shots.
