How it Happened
- Back and forth action was the theme of the game in the first 20 minutes, with neither side able to get much action going offensively. Both defenses proved to be up to the task to kick off the contest.
- The Warhawks had the first real chance of the game in the 22' minute when
Julia Pack had a variety of chances from outside the box but pushed them wide left, and high. Pack would finish the first half with three shots.
- AUM would finally break through in the 34' minute when Mendez took a shot from inside the box that was initially blocked, but the rebound fell to her feet, and the senior was able to deposit the ball into the net to give the Warhawks a 1-0 lead.
- The Warhawks would come out flying in the second half with a great chance from Mollison in the 48' minute when she took a shot from inside the box that was placed just wide on the right side of the net.
- Spring Hill would get their best chance of the game in the 53' minute when a Spring Hill forward was in all alone against Fletcher, who forced a missed shot to the right that kept the score at 1-0.
- AUM found their second goal of the game in the 65' minute when
Mayson Jaindl and Mollison would team up to put the Warhawks ahead 2-0. Jaindl found the feet of Mollison in the box, who then deposited it into the back of the net for her second goal of the year.
- Mendez would reach the two-goal mark in the 83' minute when the team drew a penalty inside the box. Mendez would step up to the spot and slot the ball past the keeper to net her sixth goal of the season.
