Warhawks Suffer Setback To West Florida In Conference Action

Pensacola, Fla. – The Auburn University at Montgomery women's soccer team was unable to contain a burst of attacks by Gulf South Conference opponent West Florida on Sunday afternoon, falling by a score of 11-0 on the road.

Game Notes
- The Warhawks' record drops to 1-7 and now have a 1-3 conference mark.
- West Florida improves to 6-2 in 2019, with their GSC record rising to 3-1.
- AUM finishes the four-game road trip with a 1-3 record.

How it Happened
- West Florida came ready to play from the first whistle and immediately bombarded the Warhawk backline in the first five minutes of the game. The Argos netted three goals in the first five minutes to jump out to a 3-0 lead.
- The Warhawks got a chance to get on the board thanks to a chance from Ruby Mendez within the box. However, by the time she could get to the ball to get a shot off, the ball was poked away by a West Florida defender.
- AUM would hold off West Florida temporarily until the 20' minute of the game when Kendall Bobbitt took a pass from Kaila Armstrong and slotted it past Chloe Kistler and into the back of the net to run the score to 4-0.
- UWF would add two more goals before the half came to a close, netting scores in the 27' and 34' minute of action to give the Argonauts a 6-0 lead going into the break.
- The Argos would waste no time extending their lead after the halftime break. West Florida's Nadia Kuchambi would slot the ball past Kistler in the lower left part of the net to give the Argonauts a 7-0 lead.
- UWF would eventually add four more goals in the dying moments of the game thanks to goals from Kuchambi, Ann-Marie Schwaner, Hanna Wooten and Anita Danielsdottir.

Up Next
- Women's soccer will return home for the first time since Sept. 19 on Friday, Oct. 11, at 4:30 when the Warhawks host GSC foe Alabama Huntsville. The match will also include the program's men's teams and will mark the first home doubleheader of the season.
