HOW IT HAPPENED
- West Georgia came out swinging in the first set of the game and jumped out to an early 11-3 lead before the Warhawks could muster much damage. Rhea was able to get the Warhawks going late in the first set with back-to-back kills to run the score to 12-7. AUM would later bring the score to 17-16 thanks to a flurry of kills from Giada Pais-Marden, but it was not enough as the Orange & Black would drop the first set 25-22.
- The beginning of the second set was a different story as AUM was able to garner an early 9-3 lead thanks to a pair of kills from Dash to force an early West Georgia timeout. The Wolves would rally back to bring the score to 16-14 before the Warhawks took their first timeout of the set. West Georgia would close out the set winning 10 of the next 12 points to capture a 25-18 victory in the second set.
- The final set saw the tightest action as both teams battled back and forth during the third frame. Pais-Marden had a pair of kills early in the third set to keep AUM in the game, but the Wolves would pull away to a 9-7 lead to force an AUM timeout. The Warhawks would come all the way back to eventually take a 16-15 lead thanks to back-to-back service aces by Carla Butler. However, the lead would disappear when UWG won eight of the next nine points to regain a 22-17 lead. Two kills from Rhea would later bring the score to 24-24 but kills by McKenna Martin, and an attack error from Pais-Marden ended the Warhawks comeback bid.
