PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Auburn University at Montgomery volleyball team wrapped up the regular season with a 3-0 road loss against Gulf South Conference opponent West Florida on Friday evening.
NOTES
- AUM finishes with a winning record for the first time in program history at 16-15.
- West Florida finishes the year 24-8 and will host the GSC conference tournament as the No. 1 seed.
- The Argos won the match 25-16, 25-20, 25-22.

Ariadne Borges led the Warhawks in kills with 11.

Carla Butler recorded a team-high 16.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- West Florida took control of the first set early on in the game and raced out to an 8-4 lead over the Orange & Black. Later in the opening frame,
Nyah Whittlesey helped cut the West Florida lead to four with a kill.
Jaylyn Felder would do her best to keep the Warhawks in the game with a kill to run the score to 19-15, but the Argos answered with scores in six of the next seven points. The Argos took a 1-0 overall lead by winning the first frame 25-16.
- West Florida kept their offensive-minded approach into the second set and jumped out to a 8-2 lead which led to an AUM timeout. The Orange & Black started to creep back into the second set with a kill from
Giada Pais-Marden and an attack error from an Argonaut made the score 8-4. However, the Argos answered by taking the next four points and regained a substantial 12-4 lead. UWF had a commanding 22-15 when AUM started to get their offensive groove going. The Warhawks took five of six points to narrow the Argo lead to 23-20 but West Florida answered with two points that secured the second set.
- The third set saw back and forth action throughout as AUM fell behind by just three points early on. With the Argos winning 13-8, AUM went on their longest run of the night and took four-straight points to cut the lead to 13-12. West Florida would regain a four-point lead in the middle stages of the final set, but the 19-15 lead was trimmed thanks to a kill from
Dariona Dash. With their backs against the wall at 23-17, AUM tallied five-consecutive points with kills from Borges,
Sommer Rhea and Pais-Marden to come to within one point of UWF. The rally was cut short when the Argos took the next two points to clinch their undefeated GSC regular season.

- West Florida had the lead in kills 40-32.
- The Warhawks tallied 60 digs to UWF's 57.
- The Argos totaled 10 blocks, while the Warhawks netted six.
QUOTING THE COACH
When asked about her team's mindset going into the playoffs, head coach
Flavia Siqueira said, "To me the season starts over, everyone is 0-0, everyone has a fair share of winning. I think the mindset of our team is exactly that. Whatever happened this season, good or bad, we have to put it in perspective but we have to understand that it is a new season."
