About the Warhawks
The Orange & Black enter the new week receiving votes in the latest south regional rankings for the first time since joining the NCAA DII ranks. AUM has won six of its first nine games this season, defeating Fort Valley State 73-57 in their most recent outing.
Just like a year ago,
Jordan Brewster is near the top of almost every 3-point category within the GSC. The sophomore ranks third in the league in 3-point field goal percentage with a .366% mark, and she leads the league in 3-pointers per-game knocking down 3.3 shots from long range.
Victoria Morales continues to put up stellar numbers in 2019. She ranks in the top-10 in the conference in rebounding, having grabbed 74 boards. The Florida native's 8.2 rebounds per game is good for ninth in the GSC and leads the Warhawks.
Defense has played a key role in the Warhawks' early success this season, they have limited opponents to just 56 points per game which is third best in the GSC.
About the Lady Bulldogs
Union will head into the meeting with the Warhawks winners of their last six games and currently boast a 9-2 record overall. Gulf South Conference regular season champs from a year ago, the Bulldogs have an undefeated conference mark this season, netting a 3-0 record.
The Bulldogs currently have two players averaging in double figures with Jaelencia Williams leading the way with 18.3 points per game. Her scoring average also ranks in the top-3 in the conference in points per game.
About the Wolves
Just like the Orange & Black, the Wolves have not been in action for over a week. West Georgia has not played a game since their 90-69 victory over Clark Atlanta on December 7. The Wolves hold a six-game winning streak heading into their contest against Montevallo on Monday night.
The Wolves were included in the latest edition of the south region polls coming in at No. 6 with an 8-1 record in 2019, including a 1-0 mark in conference play. West Georgia joins six other Gulf South Conference teams in the polls.
