BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --- The Auburn Montgomery men's basketball team led for seven minutes and 21 seconds of game time on Tuesday, Dec. 3 at divison-I Samford University, but would ultimately fall to the Bulldogs in their exhibition contest, 97-64.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS

Stanley Davis led AUM with 19 points. Davis knocked down five three-pointers in the game, and also hauled in a pair of rebounds.

Carlos Bell pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds, while scoring four points and grabbing three steals.

Maharrith Jackson scored eight points, to go along with nine rebounds and three assists.

Aaron Reddick added seven points and seven rebounds for AUM.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Warhawks opened up the game on a 5-2 scoring run over the game's first three minutes, and would lead by five points three times in the period. Their latest five-point lead came with 11:09 to go, with the Warhawks on top 13-8.
- The Bulldogs would rattle off a 13-2 run over the next four minutes, however, to go up 21-15 with 7:12 to go in the first.
- Leading 23-17 over AUM with 4:52 to go in the period, the Bulldogs would go on a 13-5 run to close out the half and take a 36-22 lead into the break.
- Samford would open up the second half on a 12-6 run to lead 48-28 at the 16:27 mark in the period.
- The Bulldogs would extend their lead to 30 points after a 16-6 run over the next four minutes to lead 64-34 with 11:37 left.
- AUM would notch 30 points over the final 11 minutes, while Samford would scored 33, to give way to the 97-64 final.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
- The Warhawks shot 34 percent (26-75) from the floor in the game, while shooting 24 percent (6-25) from the three-point line.
- Samford out-rebounded AUM in the game, 52-38.
- The Warhawks tallied 32 points in the paint, while accounting for 12 second chance points.
- AUM scored 25 points off of their bench, 18 points off of Samford turnovers and 17 fast break points.
UP NEXT
- The Warhawks will see a 13-day break from action. They'll return to the hardwood on Monday, Dec. 16 for an 8:00 p.m. Gulf South Conference contest against Union University from the AUM Gymnasium.
