About the Warhawks
The Warhawks are 9-0 on the season, having won 15 of their last 16 contests dating back to last season. AUM started the season with a 9-0 victory over #3 North Georgia on Feb. 1, followed by a 4-0 win over Embry-Riddle who were receiving votes in the NFCA Top 25 rankings the following day.

The Orange & Black hosted the 2019 AUM Invitational this past week, going 6-0 at the event. The Warhawks have not started a season 9-0 since 2013 when they went 13-0 to begin the campaign. Six of AUM's nine victories have come in five innings.

This season AUM has outscored opponents 84-5 overall as only three of the five runs allowed have been earned. In fact, all three earned runs have come on solo home runs by opponents. AUM has hit 23 extra base hits including 11 doubles, nine home runs and three triples. The Warhawks are batting .404 as a team which leads the Gulf South by almost 50 points (West Florida .356)

The pitching staff has a team earned run average of 0.41, with four out of six pitchers having not allowed an earned run.

Junior hurler Chanel Newcomer leads the team in wins with a record of 3-0 and strikeouts with 18. Sophomore Michaelyn Foster is 2-0 this season with nine strikeouts, having tossed the first complete game no-hitter at AUM since 2016 when she shut down Brewton-Parker on Feb. 7. This season Foster has allowed only five base runners over 43 at bats.

Sophomore utility player Morgan Duschell leads the team in batting with a .650 average. Duschell is tied for the team lead in hits with 13 to go along with 11 runs batted in and six runs scored. Junior slugger Jaycie Walker also has 13 hits and leads the team in home runs (four), doubles (three), total bases (28) and slugging percentage (1.077).

Junior outfielder Parker Pinholster leads the team in RBI with 12 and is tied for the team lead in runs scored with 14. Freshman shortstop Olivia Aycock has scored 14 runs and leads the team in stolen bases with 10. As a team the Warhawks lead the GSC in steals with 38.

Last season AUM split a twin bill with Albany State, falling 4-1 in game one before coming back for a 10-0 five-inning victory in game two. The Warhawks took 2-of-3 from UWA last season in Montgomery, sweeping the doubleheader on Friday 1-0 and 7-3 before dropping the series finale on Saturday 3-2.
