About the Warhawks
AUM (4-21, 3-14 GSC) went 1-1 over the course of last week's action, including a 44-42 home win over West Georgia on Thursday, Feb. 14.
Jessika Milton led the Warhawks with a career-high 14 points, while
Evelina Avleeva posted 12 points and a team-high nine rebounds.
AUM brings an all-time advantage of 33-9 against Shorter, and a mark of 2-0 over West Georgia, as they look to go a perfect 2-0 against both teams in 2018-19.
Jordan Brewster continues to pace the AUM offense, with a 14.5 point-per-game mark that also unofficially leads all GSC freshmen. Avleeva sits second on the squad with an 8.8 point-per-game average.
Brewster also unofficially leads the GSC in overall minutes (919) minutes per game (36.), three-pointers made (93) and three's per game (3.7). The Freshman guard needs just seven more treys to become the third player in program history to eclipse the century mark for threes in a season, while needing 16 more threes to set the all-time single season record.
Victoria Morales (184), Avleeva (180) and
Aaliyah Milord (179) have accounted for 543 of AUM's 900 rebounds on the season, equivalent to 60 percent of all Warhawk boards on the year. Milord leads they way, averaging 7.8 rebounds a game, while Avleva (7.5) and Morales (7.4) sit right off of Milord's pace.
Morale's 40 total blocks and 1.6 blocks per game both serve as marks that unofficially lead all Gulf-South-Conference players, while the Warhawks pace the GSC in total blocks (103) and blocks per game (4.1).
Following Saturday's contest against Shorter, AUM will hold a brief Senior Day Ceremony for Avleeva, the team's lone senior.
