Softball Hosts Bryan College Midweek, Montevallo This Weekend

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn Montgomery softball team will host five games this week, playing non-conference foe Bryan College on Tuesday in a doubleheader before welcoming the University of Montevallo to campus for a three-game Gulf South Conference series beginning on Friday evening followed by a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon.

About the Warhawks
The Warhawks are 13-4 on the season with a 2-4 mark in GSC play, and are coming off of a series loss to #10 West Florida this past weekend. The Argonauts won Friday's game 5-0 before winning Saturday's doubleheader by scores of 3-0 and 6-0. The series sweep by the Argos was the first time AUM was swept since the falling to Valdosta State three times in a row on March 15-16 of last season.
 
AUM started the season with a 9-0 victory over #3 North Georgia on Feb. 1, followed by a 4-0 win over Embry-Riddle who were receiving votes in the NFCA Top 25 rankings the following day.
 
Despite the setback to UWF the Warhawks are still outscoring opponents 117-26 this season, batting .328 as a team. AUM is 71-for-82 in stolen bases with 36 extra bases hits including 13 home runs. Warhawk batters have also drawn 56 walks this year.
 
Junior slugger Jaycie Walker leads the team in bating average (.404), hits (21), doubles (6), home runs (4) and total bases (39). Walker also has a slugging percentage of .750 which is tied for seventh in the GSC.
 
Fellow junior Parker Pinholster leads the team in RBI with 18 and is tied for the team lead in walks with eight. She is also second on the team in home runs with three and stolen bases with 14. Freshman Olivia Aycock leads the league and the team in stolen bases with 18.
 
AUM is 6-0 lifetime against Bryan College while holding a 2-4 record against Montevallo. The Falcons took 2-of-3 games from the Warhawks last season.
