HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a lackadaisical first couple of innings from both teams, AUM was finally able to crack the scoreboard in the third inning. The Warhawks loaded the bases with one out, courtesy of a fielding error by Miles, a single from Khoury and a walk by Arrington. Henderson would drive in Blackwell one batter later on a groundout to third for the game's first run.
- The Warhawks would go on to add another run in their next at-bat in the fourth, on an RBI infield hit from Blackwell to second base that plated Brandt. A Brandt single and stolen base, followed by Sage Smelly reaching base via another Miles fielding error, helped set up the run-scoring opportunity.
- AUM added their third and final run of the game their next time up in the fifth, on an RBI single to left field from Brandt. A single by Henderson, a passed ball and a fielding error by Miles that allowed Cobb to get on base, paved the way for AUM to cash in for an unearned run.
- The Golden Bears would finally get on the scoreboard in the seventh inning, courtesy of a two-run shot by Brandon Conner to left field with two outs.
- Miles got their first two batters of the eighth inning on base, but Henderson would eventually settle in to finish the inning unscathed, and would work a 1-2-3 ninth inning to lock down the win for AUM.
