• Senior guard Kenneth Keith tallied a team-high 17 points with four boards and two assists.
• Junior guard Darrion Taylor scored 15 and dished out four assists.
Aaron Reddick scored 12 with seven rebounds, Mikel Davis scored 11 with four rebounds, and Carlos Bell scored 10 and pulled down nine rebounds to finish one board away from his fifth double-double of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• AUM went up 12-8 with 16:06 to go in the first half on a Keith Layup, only to see MC outscore the Warhawks 9-0 over the next three minutes to take a 17-12 lead. A Mikel Davis layup stopped the drought with 13:06 to play.
• The Warhawks would trade points with the Choctaws, pulling to within 25-24 on a Stanley Davis trey with 8:40 on the clock. AUM would then take the lead a minute later when Keith would drain a 3-pointer from the left wing to put the visitors up 27-25 with 7:32 remaining in the first.
• The Orange & Black would lead by as much as 30-26 after another Keith trey, but the Choctaws would outscore AUM 17-9 over the final six minutes of the half to take a 43-39 lead into the break.
• The two teams would trade buckets to start the second half, but the Choctaws would eventually start to pull away from the Warhawks, going up 62-51 with 12:41 to go. AUM would claw its way back into the contest, going on a 16-8 run to pull to within a point of the home team on a Keith and-1 layup and free throw conversion at the 7:41 mark.
• Taylor would give AUM the lead moments later, hitting a jumper in the paint with 6:49 to play. Once again the two teams would trade the lead back and forth, tying the game at 73 with 5:01 to play and then again at 77-77 with 2:29 to play. MC would eventually go up 83-79 with :42 seconds to play on a pair of made free throws.
• AUM would get the ball up the court quickly and Taylor would hit a 3-pointer with :35 to go to cut the lead to 83-82. The Warhawks would foul on the ensuing possession and MC would hit a pair of free throws to go up 85-82. It was then that Davis tied the game at 85-85 on a trey with :10 remaining.
• MC would have possession and enough time for a last second shot, but a traveling violation by Marcus Lytle gave AUM possession with enough time for their own last second heroics. Brown take the inbounds pass and drove the paint to hit the layup as time expired, giving the Warhawks an 87-85 victory.

QUOTING THE COACH
"I'm extremely proud of the team and how they kept fighting back after being down by as much as 10 or 11 on a couple of occasions," said head coach Michael Cheaney. "MC was coming off a big win over Lee and had a lot of time to prepare for us. It wasn't always pretty tonight, we had some turnovers and didn't convert as many free throws as we should have, but we kept our composure down the stretch and we were able to pull out the win."

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
• AUM won the rebounding battle, 35-33.
• The Warhawks outscored the Choctaws 18-14 in points in the paint.
• MC committed only five turnovers while AUM committed 11.
• Both teams shot over 50 percent from the floor.
• Each team connected on nine 3-pointers.
