DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. --- The Auburn Montgomery baseball team dropped a 7-1 decision to the Embry-Riddle University Eagles on Thursday, March 14 from Swila Stadium.
NOTES
- With the loss, AUM's record falls to 13-10 on the season.
- The Warhawks used a season-high six pitchers in the setback.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS

Sage Smelley led AUM offensively on the night, posting a hit and scoring the Warhawk's lone run.

Zach Feaster and
Hayden Friesen all also picked up a base hit for AUM in the contest.

Harrison Morris tossed a team-high 2.2 innings of relief out of the AUM bullpen, allowing no earned runs and forcing three ground outs.

Wade Bannister and
Ross Carpenter combined for 3.2 innings of scoreless relief, while the trio allowed just one base hit.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Embry-Riddle would crack the scoreboard first in the game, scoring five runs over the first two innings of play. The Eagles knocked a two-run home run in the first, and scored three runs in the second on a Warhawk wild pitch, an RBI single and a sacrifice fly to left field.
- After seeing the Eagles put up a run in both the fourth and fifth innings to extend their lead to 7-0, the Warhawks would get on the scoreboard in the seventh. AUM would use a delayed double steal to send home Smelley and make the score 7-1 heading into the bottom of the sixth, which would hold for the remainder of the game.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
- AUM was outhit by Embry-Riddle in the contest, 7-4, marking for the Warhawk's second-lowest hit total of the season.
- Both teams committed a pair of errors in the game.
- The Warhawks left eight runners on base, while the pitching staff stranded nine Eagle base runners.
- AUM went 0-14 with runners on base, and 0-7 with runners in scoring position in the contest.
