HOW IT HAPPENED
• AUM took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first against MC, with Foster scoring from second with two outs on a fielder's choice. Krueger had chopped a ball to the second baseman who decided to throw home instead of getting the out at first and Foster was able to slide under the tag.
• MC struck back in the top of the fourth, scoring a pair of runs on an infield error by the Warhawks. After the first two batters reached base on singles Alexia Harmon laid down a sacrifice bunt to advance the runners to second and third. However, Foster fielded the ball and threw wide of first base to allow two runners to score and give the visitors a 2-1 advantage.
• Foster led off the inning with a single and then was bunted over to second by Krueger to start off the bottom of the fourth. Morgan Duschell then slapped a hit towards short on a hit and run Foster was rounding third when the ball got to the shortstop, who threw home but again Foster was able to slide under the tag of the catcher to tie the game at 2-2.
• Anne Marie Peavey led off the fifth with a double to right and then a Kristen Qualls single up the middle plated Peavey from second, giving the lead back to the Choctaws at 3-2.
• With runners at second and third in the top of the sixth Carly Crawford hit a sacrifice fly to left to plate Shayla McKissock from third, giving the visitors an insurance run.
• AUM went 3-up-3-down in both the sixth and seventh innings as the visitors were able to hold on for a 4-2 win in game one.
