MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn University at Montgomery softball team will host Columbus State University in a midweek matchup at the AUM Softball Complex before hitting the road to take on #13 Valdosta State in a three-game Gulf South Conference series beginning on Friday on the campus of the Blazers.

About the Warhawks
The Warhawks are 29-7 overall with a 9-6 mark in the GSC. AUM is also 15-4 at home, 7-3 on the road and 7-0 in neutral site contests. The Warhawks are coming off of a series victory over #21 Mississippi College this past weekend, falling in game one 4-2 on Friday evening before sweeping a doubleheader on Saturday by the scores of 2-1 and 3-0.
 
AUM is 2-3 lifetime against Columbus State, winning the last matchup with the Cougars On March 3, 2017 10-1 on the road. The game marked the first time the two teams met as members of the NCAA Division II. VSU swept the Warhawks last season at home in the first meeting between the two schools as members of the GSC. AUM is now 1-3 lifetime against the Blazers.
 
Junior slugger Jaycie Walker leads the Orange & Black in batting average (.383), hits (41), runs batted in (30), doubles (12) and home runs (10). Her 10 home runs are second in the conference while her .794 slugging percentage is good enough four fourth.
 
Freshman infielder Olivia Aycock is second on the team in batting average with a mark of .375 while her 36 stolen bases leads the entire conference. Aycock needs just one more base swipe to tie the single season record for stolen bases at AUM set by current Warhawk Parker Pinholster during the 2017 season.
 
Pinholster is second on the team in stolen bases with 23, as well as second in RBI with 28 and home runs with five.
 
Sophomore Michaelyn Foster leads the team in wins with a record of 11-2 this season. Foster has posted an earned run average of 0.63 this year over 67.0 innings pitched. Foster is also batting .357 with 11 extra base hits and 24 RBI.
 
Freshman Savanna Holmes tossed her second one-hit shutout of the month against Mississippi College in the rubber match on Saturday, taking a no-hitter into the seventh inning while striking out eight to help lead the Orange & Black to a series victory. Holmes now leads the team in strikeouts with 52 on the season.
